Smart CARE
3D Motion Analysis with Thermal Sensors
Our pioneering Smart CARE system (Continuous Assessment and Response Engine) uses an autonomous stereo vision system with thermal sensors that operates without additional lighting.
Thanks to optimized hardware and software interaction, it is cost- and energy-efficient and ideal for private homes, hospitals, care facilities, and senior residences. The Smart CARE system continuously captures and analyzes 3D motion patterns and positions of the observed persons, enabling independent and anonymous detection of falls and other atypical movements, without any active interaction from the monitored person.
Besides fall detection, the system also recognizes thermal anomalies such as open windows, fires, or water overflows. It records the room position, movement direction, and speed of patients, creates movement profiles, and conducts statistical analyses without processing personal data.
In the future, the system will be enhanced with a mmWave radar sensor capable of measuring respiratory rate and heart rate. AI can then derive health parameters and forecasts from these measurements.
Nominated for the SmartHome Germany Award 2021, our system offers valuable data for diagnostics and research in geriatrics, industry, and the military.

Innovative Applications for Safety and Care
Our Smart CARE system offers numerous applications that revolutionize safety and care. From reliable three-dimensional localization of people in a room to registering temperature fluctuations, from creating movement statistics to detecting deviations in daily routines – our sensor provides a comprehensive solution. Automated notifications in case of events, legally compliant documentation of care activities, all without active user interaction. Discover the future of safety and care with the Smart CARE sensor.
No need to wear a sensor on the body or any other active interaction with the Smart CARE system!
Registration of Temperature Fluctuations
For example, for detecting excessively high temperatures such as bath water or a stove, as well as other hazards like water overflow, open doors and windows, or a burning candle dangerously close to a curtain. Creation of statistics on specific activities, movement patterns, and durations of stay, such as sleeping, watching TV, walking, sitting…
3D Localization of People
Reliable three-dimensional localization of people in the room, especially near the floor. This allows reliable detection of lying, crawling or fallen persons.
Differentiation of Movement Patterns
Differentiation of faster, slower and deviant movement patterns. This allows conclusions about the current condition and care or medical needs.
Long-term Analysis
Detection of deviations from normal daily routines and long-term analyses of disease patterns and their development phases.
Alarm System
Automated notification of relatives and/or care personnel in case of an event, with possible integration into other systems.
Safety and Legal Protection
Legally compliant proof of care activities, including in cases of physical assaults on care personnel.

Example Application: Fall Detection
Calibrated 3D information enables differentiation of object heights above the floor. Definable height thresholds allow identification of standing, sitting, or lying people in a room. Sudden falls or slow sagging falls are detected and signaled.
