DeyeRECTOR Eye Tracker
CHRONOS VISION has been developing and manufacturing fast eye tracking systems for more than 25 years and has built up extensive core competences in the field of measuring and analysing eye movements for various medical and industrial applications.
Innovative Technologies
Our first head-mounted eye tracking system was developed for the International Space Station (ISS) and subsequently commercialized. Its successor, the OneK+, was based on proprietary on-chip technology, offering impressively low latency and tracking rates exceeding 1000 Hz.
Third Generation Eye Tracker
The new DeyeRECTOR Eye Tracker represents the third generation of our eye tracking systems. With new hardware and the redesigned DeyeRECTOR Software Suite, we continue to set standards for precise and fast eye tracking at up to 1500 Hz.

Key Features
High-Speed Tracking
Experience precise pupil and limbus tracking at remarkable speeds of up to 1500 Hz with minimal latency.
Powerful DeyeRECTOR Software Suite
Our DeyeRECTOR Software Suite offers a comprehensive range of eye tracking measurements and functions, including shift, torsion, tilt+z, and ident.
Standard-Hardware
Benefit from our independent standard hardware, which seamlessly integrates into existing systems – entirely without proprietary restrictions.
Optimized Tracking Performance
Our optimized tracking performance is perfectly suited for applications in refractive surgery as well as other medical and industrial fields.
Advantages of Non-Proprietary Components
Paradigm Shift in Eye Tracking
With the DeyeRECTOR Eye Tracker, CHRONOS VISION delivers a significant paradigm shift. We deliberately avoid proprietary components in hardware and interfaces, opting instead for commercial, high-speed USB3 cameras and powerful standard PCs, resulting in substantial performance improvements compared to previous systems.
Reduced Supplier Dependence
Using standard components provides significant advantages for customers and device manufacturers. Typical risks like supplier dependence, delivery reliability, and second source availability are drastically reduced. Proprietary components such as specialized camera hardware and PC parts often cause delays when adapting to the latest technological developments.
Flexibility and Compatibility
The DeyeRECTOR system uses a commercial USB3 camera compliant with USB3 Vision v1.0, which can be easily replaced with new, more powerful models from other manufacturers if needed. Our processing unit is a powerful commercial PC that must meet a certain minimum configuration to guarantee the specified eye tracking performance. Established and widely used system interfaces USB3 and RS232 ensure additional flexibility.
Future-Proof
By utilizing standard components, the DeyeRECTOR Eye Tracker system remains future-proof. New developments and innovations in camera and PC technology can be adapted at any time, keeping our system up to date.
Fields of Application
Refractive Surgery
Maximum precision in controlling the treatment laser is fundamental to the success and quality of eye laser surgery. However, even the best accuracy is useless if the position information lags behind the actual eye position during laser treatment. The DeyeRECTOR Eye Tracker was developed as an OEM component for device manufacturers in refractive surgery, combining highly precise eye position measurement with near latency-free transmission during LASIK operations.
Wide Range of Applications
Although CHRONOS VISION specializes in refractive surgery, the company has developed a wide variety of solutions for other medical and industrial purposes. Wherever fast and reliable eye tracking is a key factor for success, the DeyeRECTOR Eye Tracker offers outstanding performance and reliability.
Robust Algorithm
We have placed particular emphasis on improving the performance of the DeyeRECTOR Eye Tracker algorithm with regard to disturbances like occlusions, instruments in the field of view, spurious reflections or hematoma.
DeyeRECTOR Hardware
The DeyeRECTOR system consists of a compact high-speed USB3 camera and a standard PC running the eye tracker algorithms. The monochrome or color camera records eye movements up to 500 Hz in BASIC mode and achieves tracking rates up to 1500 Hz using the ADVANCED option.
Powerful Software Modules
All DeyeRECTOR software modules operate under Linux on a standard PC, enabling tracking information to be transmitted with minimal latency to connected components via the USB3 or RS232 interface.
Live Viewer
The DeyeRECTOR Live Viewer simplifies external system configuration access and provides a live view of camera images on a PC connected via Ethernet.
